The Falcons (3-5) reportedly agreed to a contract with Zane Gonzalez, who worked out for the team on Tuesday as Atlanta prepares to depart for its International Series game in Berlin against the Indianapolis Colts (7-2).

The first-round pick is the second Falcons rookie to receive an award in the first half of the 2025 NFL season. Third-round pick Xavier Watts was named the NFL Rookie of the Month for September. Overall, Atlanta's draft class has thrived this season under defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich.

As the Falcons prepare to travel to play in Berlin, the team is hoping Zane Gonzalez can rid them of their baggage when it comes to kicking game problems this season.

Zane Gonzalez resurfaced in Atlanta today for a workout, according to NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport, who reports the team will make a Romo-for-Gonzalez switch at kicker. Gonzalez, who will follow Younghoe Koo and Romo as Falcons kickers this season, last kicked for the Commanders in 2024.
